Who handles your information

ConnectAgain is responsible for how your personal information is used to provide its service. For privacy questions or requests, email customerservice@connectagain.co.uk.

Information we use and why

Pre-registration collects your name, email and email consent to manage your registration and send essential launch updates. Member accounts hold the details you supply, such as contact information, career details, profile information and membership status. Bookings, payments, challenges, community activity and support correspondence are used to provide and administer the services you choose and protect the service against misuse. We rely on providing the service you have signed up for, our legitimate interest in running a safe community, your consent for optional marketing emails, and our legal obligations (for example, keeping payment records).

We do not sell your personal data. Registration lists and account records are not public. Community posts are shared within the member community; messages are available to the relevant participants. Opting in to a connection profile makes the selected profile details visible to other authorised members. Administrators may access information where necessary to operate and moderate the service.

Stripe processes payments. ConnectAgain stores payment references and membership records, not full payment card details. We use service providers to run ConnectAgain: Lovable Cloud for website hosting, sign-in, database and file storage (including videos), and email delivery; Stripe for payments; and Lovable AI, which uses an OpenAI model, for the AI Career Studio tools. These providers process information on our behalf to deliver the service.

Cookies and similar storage: the site uses your browser’s storage to keep you signed in and remember choices such as dismissed reminders. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics tracking cookies.

All AI Career Studio tools

This disclosure covers Amend & design my CV (including CV templates), Cover letter, Interview coach (preparation, practice questions, answers and feedback), and Check My CV Before I Apply (CV/job matching, scoring and suggestions).

PDF/Word CV files are read in your browser; the original file is not uploaded by these tools. Pasted or extracted CV text, the job advert or description, instructions and relevant interview answers or conversation history are sent when you request AI assistance. Your original file is unchanged. Manual design and local exports do not themselves request AI processing.

Processing route: your browser → ConnectAgain’s authenticated service → Lovable AI Gateway → the configured OpenAI model → the response returned to your browser. The application is configured to request an OpenAI model through Lovable; we do not claim a direct contract with OpenAI or that all supplier safeguards have been verified.

Automatic screening: before text is sent, our service replaces common personal identifiers (email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses and postcodes, National Insurance numbers, dates of birth, identity document numbers and payment or bank details) with placeholders, and removes sentences that appear to describe your health, disability, criminal record, beliefs, sexuality, trade-union membership or ethnic origin. This applies only to the copy sent for AI processing; your saved CVs and files are not changed. Automatic screening cannot detect everything, so please still leave out information that is not needed.

AI moderation of community content

To keep the community safe, the text of community posts and uploaded photos and videos are checked by an AI safety model through Lovable AI Gateway before they appear. This check needs to see the content itself, so it is not redacted. Avoid posting health or other sensitive personal information in the community.

Ask ConnectAgain chatbot

Questions typed into the Ask ConnectAgain chat bubble are sent through Lovable AI Gateway to an AI model to generate an answer. The chatbot has no access to accounts or member data, applies the same automatic screening, and its conversations are not saved by ConnectAgain. Please do not type personal or account details into it — contact us directly instead.

These tools act on your request to provide career assistance, not to make employment decisions. Review outputs for accuracy. We process this information to provide the service you have asked for.

Career Workspace: saved CVs, target companies and applications

Registered members can choose to store CV documents (“My Saved CVs”), a list of target companies and job application records, including any notes they add. We use this information only to provide the Career Workspace to you.

These records are private to your account. Other members cannot see them, whether you are using your Visible or Incognito identity. CV files are held in private storage and can only be opened by the signed-in account that saved them. ConnectAgain administrators do not have routine access to them through the website.

Retention: we keep your Career Workspace information while your account remains active. You can delete an individual CV, company or application at any time, and it is removed from the service straight away. When a verified request to delete your account is completed, your Career Workspace information and CV files are deleted as part of that process, normally within 30 days of verification. Deleted information may remain for a limited period in secure system backups kept by our hosting provider until those backups are routinely replaced; it is not used during that time.

Incognito Mode and Your Privacy

ConnectAgain offers an optional Incognito Mode to help members explore career opportunities, take part in the community and connect with others while protecting their public identity.

When you use Incognito Mode, your real name and personal profile details are not shown to other members through your Incognito identity. Incognito has its own posts, connections and messages, and it does not appear on public leaderboards.

ConnectAgain continues to keep your registered account identity securely. This helps us protect members, prevent misuse, investigate reports of inappropriate behaviour and keep the community safe. Authorised safety administrators can look up the account behind an Incognito identity when a concern is reported, and each lookup is recorded with a reason.

Incognito Mode does not make you anonymous to ConnectAgain itself. We may need to disclose information where the law requires it, and Incognito Mode does not control services outside ConnectAgain. Information you choose to share while Incognito (such as your employer or photos) could still identify you, and anything posted earlier under your Visible identity stays with that identity.

Your personal information is handled in line with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.

How long we keep information

The AI Career Studio tools do not save CV text, prompts or generated responses between sessions unless you choose to save a CV document to your Career Workspace (see above). A loaded CV can be reused in memory within the same browser tab; refreshing closes that session, and downloaded documents remain on your device. Usage records keep the member identifier, tool, status, timestamps and interview turn count for allowance tracking, not the CV text.

We keep account, community and membership information while your account is active. When a verified account deletion request is completed, your account, profile, community activity and Career Workspace are deleted. Records of payments, bookings and membership changes may be kept separately, with access limited to authorised administrators, where we need them to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations.

Free introductory membership: to prevent repeated use of our free 7-day introductory membership, we keep a keyed, one-way coded version of the email address, mobile number and household address used to claim it, together with related device and payment-card signals. This is pseudonymised personal data: it contains no readable details but allows us to recognise a repeat application. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in preventing misuse of free offers. It is kept for 24 months from the trial start, including after an account is deleted, and is then deleted automatically. Each ConnectAgain account can receive only one introductory membership. You can ask us about this information using the contact details on this page.

We do not promise that AI providers apply zero retention or never use requests to improve their services; their own terms apply.

Sensitive information

Do not include health or disability details, ethnicity, religion, political views, trade-union membership, sexuality, criminal-record information, identity documents or unnecessary third-party details in AI inputs. Remove names, addresses and contact details that are not needed for the task. CVs and interview answers can contain sensitive information even when supplied voluntarily.

Requesting an AI response is not treated as consent to process sensitive information. If you have shared something sensitive by mistake, contact us and we will help remove what we hold.

International transfers and security

Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers under UK data protection law. We do not promise UK-only processing.

Account access checks, database access rules and private file storage help restrict access. No online service can promise absolute security.

Your rights and manual requests

You may request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your information, object to processing, request restriction, or withdraw consent where applicable. Email customer service; requests are handled manually and identity may need to be checked. Applicable legal deadlines and exceptions apply; this policy does not promise deletion of all records within five business days.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Terms & Conditions cover membership and bookings separately.
